Taylor Swift receives Milestone Award at ACM

Taylor Swift; the country-turned-pop singer received the Milestone Award at the ACM (Academy of Country Music) Awards. She was one of the seven recipients of the 50th Anniversary Milestone Award held in Arlington, Texas, April 19, 2015. Her mother, Andrea, presented the award to her and gave a heartfelt speech about how Taylor wrote songs in her room from an early age and about her breakout start in country music to pop. Andrea also revealed how proud she was of the woman Taylor has become; from learning to stand for herself and the things she believes in.

After receiving the award from her mother, Taylor shared that she was grateful to the 'country heroes' because they taught her kindness and respect; leading to the artist she is today
